Taste the Rockies...
This past week Mike and I took a trip to Colorado to visit our good friend and former roommate Laura S. We wanted to surprise her, which was a success, but that meant riding around for a day or so in the jumpseats of her pick-up truck since we couldn't pre-plan to have her switch to a larger car! Riding sideways was never so much fun! The surprise wouldn't have worked without the tall tales of Mike C. who always seems to be there for the good times and the bad alongside us! He told Laura that he had to return to the airport to sign papers for work that were needed for an upcoming work-related trip! When she arrived, as you can guess, there was no one from work, just two good friends. We had a great time exploring the Coors Brewing Company and old gold rush towns with quaint streets and shops. Somehow we found time to play the slots in Blackhawk (the Las Vegas of CO). Leaving $5 poorer was okay because we got to enjoy the $5.99 Prime Rib lunch =) As we drove around, Laura told us some of the history of Colorado, which we enjoyed along with the spectacular views or the mountains and the prairies. Laura lives in a cute studio apartment next to what should be the site for the TV show "Prairie Dog Manor" (reference to Meerkat Manor). Four people in a studio with one bed is fun, but her parents were gracious enough to open their home to us for the rest of the week! They built their own home in the foothills and it sure is gorgeous , both inside and out. They live about 9,000 ft above sea level which was a pre-cursor to a bit of an upset tummy and stuffy head. I consoled myself with Reader's Digest, board games and baking, lots of baking! All in all we had a great time and Colorado is a beautiful place. Plus, it's always fun to travel with your husband =)

Turkey Day Pt. 1
Yesterday was another crazy holiday. Felt like i was going to burst from too much food. Oh well it was really fun to be back in Syracuse visiting family. Today was an awesome day, too. I met tina's dad out in elbridge and had lunch w/ him and his hunting guys. Then her Uncle Pat said he knew someone with a garage with a lift, so to get my Jeep's brakes checked we just went up there, lifted it up, zoop off comes four tires and like 30 min later we were done (plus travel time to go to napa to get a new set of rotors and pads). PLUS one of Phil's hunting guys is a certified jeep master mechanic so he got everything done REALLY fast and helped me fix the rear right brake adjustment line which is probably why my e-brake never really worked well.
For the rest of the weekend I'll be going through old stuff at my parents house helping them clean so they can move to Buffalo =(
That could be interesting though if I ever graduate and get a job at Invitrogen!
Someday I'll add more pics to this place, just need a better digi camera hehe.

Weekends
So i was debating and debating and debating whether or not to make a post about our ... okay I'll say it "crappy" day 2 sundays ago, and I think I've decided to just move past it. That was pretty much the reason why I haven't posted here in a while.
Okay, so let's get up to date. That sunday was rough because it was a long day, and other things. Plus I didn't get to play pb at all that weekend =(, knowing that last Sunday (3 days ago) my parents would be here. WELL this weekend was GREAT, way making up for the weekend before. Sure I still didn't get to ref or play paintball, but we got a TON done at the house. We got a quote for doing the rest of our hardwood floors, dad and I finished mudding (okay mostly dad but I sanded!) the living room/dining room wall, we got our new *** upstairs (major undertaking!) and dad and I cleaned up the upper attic in preparation for the ceiling bathroom fan we wired and installed and for the future ceiling replacement that I need to work on.
Mom and Tina got to do lots of shopping lol and also organized the master bedroom while painting the trim on the guest bedroom. And Tina and I got to treat the family to dinner for Dad's b-day and for them coming down to help!
I'll try to do something with pics when I get home.

Tacoby Bellsbury
It was free taco day today! Because Jacoby Ellsbury stole a base in the world series!
It was awesome.
I also mowed the lawn today. I really thought I wouldn't have to mow it again before the winter, but with the rain we got last week and then warming up this week, the grass shot up a ton.

MNF
Watching MNF tonight. Feeling Really down that Mike had to leave =(
But OMG such an awesome weekend having mike here for the world series. He's a life changing friend.
Not sure how this blog will turn out. One thing it needs is Pictures. That's something I'm adding to my xmas list. A good digital camera for me only! That way when Tina and I are documenting our life here in Baltimore away from friends and family we can include pictures for everyone to join us with.
I'm sitting here working on this blog, thinking about how I should be doing my driving school, but actually wanting to be hanging out with mike again, or watching some TV with tina, but she's working on a paper and I'm all alone! Well I guess i can go surf more paintball websites, or start on my online course!
